Just wanted to thank all those who have helped me through my project so far, as i wont be working on it for a while and getting advice from this great forum. I have begun a long and probably drawn out custody battle for my son,so all my funds to spare will be going towards getting him out of the terrible situation he is in. Again thanks to all...
And if there is any corvette owners here that happens to be an attorney or knowledgeable in family law any input on helping me is welcome
Sorry about that, been there, it still amazes my how someone you thought you knew and loved can turn into someone so evil,
and the courts are on there side almost always.
good luck
Todd
Good luck, keep your side of the street clean and always take the high road. Your son will see that and it will tell him volumes about you. Also remember, "Your actions speak so loudly that I cannot hear what you're saying". As mad and frustrated as you get, keep in mind that it's not about you and her, it's about him. What y'all had is scrap, he is the most precious thing in the world you'll ever know.
Also know that they're resilient little buggers, they can bounce back from a whole lot more than most folks give 'em credit for.
I hope it helps knowing that 1 year ago I divorced my ex-wife and started a custody battle for my 3 sons. My lawyer only thought I'd get equal custody & visitation but I was tenacious because I knew it's what they needed. Bottom line is keep your head on straight and as L88PLus said, it is about what's best for the child or children. After 1 year and funds depleted. The money is least important part of the equation, not that I had much but unlike children and thier respect, we can get the money back over time. I now have custody of my boys, kept our the house & she pays me support. Though unusual, the man can win. I don't know your circumstances but the court appointed guardian & social worker must see you at your best and know that you have his best interest at heart. Express to the courts that you feel it best that he has a stable home base where he lives & if fit, his mother can have visitation. Boys need a full time Father. Keep your chin up and don't worry too much as times have changed and Men are being seen as great care givers to our children now adays. If you need to talk or have any questions feel free to drop me a line. Best of luck!! PS. kept the Vette also.

If you really want to win your case [and you have justification], hire a female attorney, get on who specializes in divorce and custody work, and make certain that she has lots of experience and a good track record. DON'T go to the Yellow Pages and 'throw a dart' to make your pick. You can call your local Bar Association and ask for how to find to attorney you want.
Thanks to all whom responded and to those who will on down the line. Was awarded an emergency hearing only to get joint with her having primary with me paying the same 200 month childsupport that i was. For those who are interested,I talked to the court oppointed gaurdian today. He seemed to show a lot more concern for my son than the sorry a@# judge did, hopefully things will turn towards my way the next go around. Thanks for all those that replied, this is a thing that ive never been through before and im hoping that it will end in my favor without to much collateral damage to those involved...
