Why?
Why does Summit choose to torture me so?
What dark deeds have been done to them, in my name, that they continue on this path?
for some reason,, only beknownst to them, they decided it was time for me to get back to work on old blue,, or green, as the case may be.
Anyway, what arrive at my door, courtesy of a strange little man in a brown suit, not much for words, were these components. hmm. We'll have to see if they fit on the 'Vette. Heads courtesy of another outfit, seems to want to go by 'Vettesbydesign' or something or other. got to keep my eyes open.... Stay tuned....

A similar man in a white truck and colorful suit brought 4 boxes to my door yesterday. Inside said boxes were a set of gunmetal Coys rims, 17x8. Strangely enough, they have the correct backspacing to fit the '75. Peculiar.

Hey at least "They" delivered them to you,
I ordered some bolts to be delivered by courier
(Cost extra too) But instead of Knocking/ringing the door bell
he left a card in the mailbox (I was home at the time
he wrote on the card ?????).
After frantic calls to the company, I found out they wouldn't
re-deliver the bolts,so I had to take time off work to ride
20 miles to pick them up.
Then they give ME a hard time!!!!
I asked to speak to a manager & lodged an official complaint
(I also contacted the Seller & told them about this crap).
The irony is -I just spent 2 years as a courier and NEVER
pulled a stunt like these clowns.

I figured on little things like the temp sensor, this is a lot of work, and most of it will be new to me, so be ready for questions,, probably lots of them, want to do this build right, so am going to take my time. Can't tell you how amped i am to start this job! looking forward the the H/P bump. First question,, I have 2 head gaskets, one a .028 compressed and one a .038 compressed,, which would be better for this build?

I'm not an expert, and I don't know what CR you will get with the new heads, but I think you can use the thinnest head gasket
without any problem with pump gas, even with a 64cc chamber volume. Maybe some real experts will confirm
Remember to check pushrods length with your new heads/cam. Good luck and I'll be happy to see the evolution of your project

Allright,, today, before work, pulled exhaust flanges, starter, spash sheild, ideler arm hook up and power ram hold bolt. Need to do the RMS -while i'm at it. TDCed the motor, pulled snount bolt, a good trick here is to keep the P/S belt on, then use it to put mark back at TDC, after pulling the snout bolt. Radiator and hood tommorow. Then the fun starts. pics soon.

looks like your going to be relying on the misses to cook the dinners for a few weeks while your hard at it in the garage, one minute having fun and then the next all cranky when something is not going right. i think it will look awesome when you have it all back together.ill be watching your thread runningman.

,, don't get me started. Garrage is a rented one about 5 miles from the apt,, but it's not all doom and gloom, just put a second and only offer on my dream home in concord

I would say just a little elbow grease, patience, and carefully using a tool like a razor blade to scrape off the gasket material.
The only tricky part is cleaning around the locating dowels, but it's important to get this area clean.
Some air tools with VERY FINE metallic brush can help in some areas. Wipe with alcohol when finished.
Carb/Brake cleaner can help... but avoid it on paint...
But yes, it's a pain in the ***...
It's about the same work as it is with intake manifold gaskets : bad for your back when the engine is still in the car !
