All You need to do is to remove and plug.... The hardest part to plug is the exhaust atleast on my 79 it was that easy/ But I ended up putting it back in the car before the smog check anyways...Good luck

i took the pump off my '81 and removed the air injector tube from both exhaust manifolds and welded the holes. lokks much cleaner and no prob. with the carb.

If you have or plan on running true duals with no cat, you may want to consider McJack's shorty headers which are a direct fit to a stock OEM exhaust and are dimensionally an exact fit to the OEM cast iron manifolds, no modifications required at all to make them fit to stcok type dual pipes that hook up to the cast iron ramhorn manifolds, but they are pricey. I love mine which look great, sound much better than the ramhorns, fit perfectly, and have no clearance issues in the engine bay or with the road. Just an option!

the '81 came with ss headers. just take out the air tubes and weld. cheap and works great.
