Well right now I'm kinda disapointed,, I don't like the stall converter. When I started this venture I did my homework and chose one with the help of a reputable builder to suit my needs according to my powerplant. I guess I'm not a high stall lover ,,LOL. its not even a very high stalling one 2200-2600rpm. The other problem I don't like is the shift points,, maybe someone can help me with this one,, I have a shift kit but the shift points can be better,,,I used the stock governer,, mayby thats the problem ?? has anybody installed a differant one,, or played with the springs ??

Modifying or changing the governor would be the simplest way to change the overall level of the shift schedule. A high stall TC is great for getting off the line quicker, but it's lousy for normal driving and fuel mileage. Try stiffer springs and/or lighter flyweights on the governor, if you want to raise the rpm for your shifts.

Obviously can't do anything about the loose converter, except make sure you get into lockup soon as possible...3-4th gear....

who's shift kit?? if not Trans Go.....well, that's too bad...

Sure you have the throttle cable set up correctly?? the typical install is to make it tight as you can, the force the throttle open all the way to pull the jacket through that thumb actuated restriction/clamp on the square block, you need either 1.5 inches or 2.5 inches of pull on that cable, from slack to all the way out tight.....I forget which....dimension...so when throttle is all the way open, that throttle cable to the tranny better be ALL the way extended.....with NO slack, when throttle is closed/idle the cable maybe out a tad, like 1/4 inch or so...

to delay shifts you get into the governator.....

It takes off very quick,, I have no problems with the shift kit (sonnax) It works fine,,The gears are crisp and drivable a differant one will not correct what I don't like. The tv cable is also well adjusted, with all the correct brackets,, if it wasn't,, the trany would would be toast from all my childish driving ) I'v been reading on the governor,, the turbo buicks do not have a spring on the heavy weight,, I may play with this before replacing the converter. When I use the lock up it runs great,, it pulls very hard,, shifts crisp,, but when I turn it off,, it revs to much (for me). High stalls are very new to me,,its a learning experience,,
