Default Need some 1969 Assembly Manual Help

I have the assembly manual for my 1969, but the page that shows the dash wiring harness is completely unreadable. It looks very faded and I can't read any of the writing. I was wondering if any of you other '69ers could take a look in yours and see if the image is as bad.
I'm at work and can't remember the page number, but in the index it is under Wiring, then maybe Dash Harness or Interior wiring. I know this is a lame description.

It may be page J264.

I'll get the exact page when I get home, but in case anyone has access t the manual now....

Yes the wiring schematics in the AIM are very tough to read, what you need is an aftermarket color version and that will help a lot. Try this thread.

Thanks,
I have a great color wiring diagram from Doc Rebuild. What I was looking for was the picture that showed the wiring and where it was connecting behind the left side lower dash pad. There are a lot of connections there and I want to be sure I am sure of each of them.

I don't really have a question yet, I just wanted a good copy of the page from the Assembly manual for piece of mind reasons. It stinks that it is the only page I have needed that I just can't read.

My real question is does anyone have a GOOD image of the page or are they all like mine.

Hi TS,
In my 71 AIM it's page 266, and readable, if no one comes up with a 69 page I'll scan it and send it to you.
Regards,
Alan

This is page J264 from my copy of the 69 AIM, hopefully better than yours.

Hello all helpful folks. I checked my AIM manual when I got home and the page I am having the problem with is page J281. Sorry about the confusion earlier.

If any of you can scan or copy from the CD it would be most appreciated.

Give me a minute and I'll post the page for you. Instead of page number, give me the UPC which I'll assume is 12 and the sheet number. Then I'll know I'm doing the right page.

Anyone with a 1969 manual should save this picture. This page is about the worst page in the 1969 AIM. So tonight I did a repair on it. I will make sure it is inserted in the next run of the PDF assembly manuals. You sure this is not the page you are looking for?

The wires on the back of the cluster are pretty much plug and play. No two connectors are the same. The temperature gauge ground is the most important ground on this cluster! You should verify this is a working ground before you plug this connector on the housing. It is responsible for grounding all the other small gauges including the fuel gauge. When the temp nut is placed on the gauge it grounds to the metal housing, the rest of the gauges pick up the ground from the metal housing.

The wire marked Wiper solenoid, looks short in the picture but it is not! This wire has to go to the back of the tachometer solenoid.

It sound to me like he's looking for the page that shows the backside of the drivers side lower dash with the wiring for the speedo and tach??

Saved the picture in post 11 for my brothers 69, thanks Ernie.

No problem Rick. . . I worked on these damn books for over two years. I tried to fix the pages that I could at the time but I find myself finding more. Each fix I insert in to the next run.

I'm wondering too, if I didn't do the wrong page. I worked on this page waiting for theesir to post again. . . Now I have to see if I guess right or not. In the PDF version of the AIM, there is not a page with this number B6 on it. It may have been so bad the that when we did them it came out blank. . . I don't know I'll have to look in to this.

E.

This may be the missing link If the first page is not right, this is the page from the 70 book. . . I'm going to have to dig up a copy of the 69 book from the 70's to see if this page is actually missing from the book or what. But anyway, here is what I think shoudl be B6

THANK YOU!!!!! THE last one is the page I was looking for. Just a bit of emotional reassurance before I start putting everything back together!

No problem. . . The back of the cluser is marked which wire belongs where.

Save both pictures too! We are working on the web site and they will likely come down. . . Anyone with a 69 AIM should save both!

Were trying to make it better and easier to shop for the forum members and the special prices! Jason will be testing this over the weekend and for the next few weeks. But one change that is being made is where I host my pictures!

How much longer until it's done. . . I'm not sure.
