Default Upper Radiator Hose
Went to parts store for new Upper Radiator Hose for my 81 and the ones they have do not match mine. The stores hoses are longer with extra un-needed bends and a plastic cover (where hoses touch fan cover) even though mine does not touch. They x-ref the GM number on my old hose and it comes back to their hose. No engine options that year and serial number says motor is original to car.

any ideas?

I didn't have any luck getting a correct upper hose at the chain parts stores either. Order one from Dewitt's or one of the Vette parts vendors and you will get the right one.
