Heres the formula with the answer that you need. E= I X R

You know E = 12.2 VDC (common fully charged battery voltage)
You Know R = 5.3 Ohms

I = E/R E 12.2 VDC / R 5.3 = I 2.30189 amps

Thats a LOT more current draw than it should be. You should be drawing milliamps 0.02 amps

Your drawing 2+ amps at rest where you should be drawing almost nothing.

Like I stated earlier,,,C1,2 and 3 are easy. You can hook up your ohm meter to the disconnected battery leads and pull fuses ONE AT A TIME until the 5 ohm reading drops to zero. Then you find what in that circuit is drawing current.

If it were me,,,,,,,,,,I would start at the alternator. DISCONNECT the BATT wire on the back of the alternator and see if you still have the 5 ohms.

If not,,,,,Then go for the fuses.

Update: Now the car dies after I start it and disconnect the battery.

So I installed a new alternator and viola the car started fine and guess what? I left the battery connected overnight (which I previously couldn't do) and it was NOT dead the next day.

Rebuilt Alt= problem solved... Thanks to all!!

Next: solving the elusive water firewall leak on both passenger and driver sides. Grrrr

The flashlight gig didnt work cause the leak is somewhere (on the sides) near or passed the top dome looking thing. Its coming from the sides. On the drivers side it leaks onto the clutch pedal.

So you feel the source of your battery drain was the alternator ?
