Anyone running Magnaflows from CC? Just want to know if the 2 1/2in. ones have 2 1/2in. outlets also.

I had a similar pair on a 69 Camaro for about 20 minutes. I sent them back to Mario Andretti directly with a note stating that I couldn't believe how crummy they sounded. Like deer farts through a pillow.

Went with Dynomax Super Turbos instead. MUUUCH better. I'll never use anything else. They have the deep muscle car tone and don't wake the dead when cruising (like Flowmaster).

FWIW

supposedly by the time the exhaust gets down to the mufflers it has cooled down enough that a 2 inch outlet wont hurt performance.

I run Flowmaster Super 44's with a gear drive and you can hear me coming from a mile away I do wish they were a little deeper in tone.

I bought and installed Magnaflow satin Stainless 2 1/2 center in and 2 1/2 center out. Welded the TIPs so they look symmetrical coming out the center of each muffler. i get compliments and inquiries from C3'rs on them a lot! ...and they sound awesome..

Going to your original question, it depends on which kit from Magnaflow you get. There is one that's not mandrel bent and I think that starts at 2.5" and ends in 2" and then there is the one I have which is mandrel bent and 2.5" all the way through. (see my pics)

I was a little disappointed at first with how quiet the exhaust is at idle, but the more I get on the throttle, the more I like. Freeway speeds are music to my ears (even at 2800 rpms). And as stated, you stomp on it... Oh baby!

I've recently acquired a set of Turbo Cherry Bombs. My car currently has Flowmaster 40 Series on them. Engine is a 355, mild build (intake and cam). Anyone know what the difference in sound is? My car has run, but only to load into a trailer as the carb is crap and the brakes are almost non-existent.

I've had many mufflers on mine and the MagnaFlows sound the best to me. Just get the universal fit in any size or configuration of inlet / outlet you want and take them to a muffler shop. I run 3" in and out and they are great
