Default 1968 courtesy light switch

I have been having trouble with the interior courtesy lights on my'68 roadster. I purchased a new set of switches but cant for the life of my figure out how to attach the wire terminals to them. They sold me a set of six tiny knife blade terminals that appear to push into one of the slots on the end of the switch. Somewhere I read where two are needed per switch but I only have one wire coming into the switch and when I attach it to the terminal and push it into the slot the connection is terrible and intermittent. Is there another type of wire terminal I can use on this switch?? Thanks

Frank

If you touch the single wire you have to the threads in the body the courtesy lights should light up. So the switch is only grounding the wire to the pillar. Make sure the threads on the switch are grounded good to the body pillar. Not knowing the switch you have makes it tough to tell you exactly. The 68 can be different but I was thinking the drivers side should have one kind of switch with 2 contacts ( one for key buzzer) and the pass side had a single contact switch. Hopefully some of the guys that are familiar with the 68s will chime in.

If you check your wiring diagram, you will note that one door has two wires on the switch, but the other only has one wire. Just follow the wiring diagram for your car. The wire/metal connectors should just pull off of the little lugs on the switch; the connector is soldered or crimped on the wire, but that set is just pushed onto the switch lugs.

Thanks for the feedback. The only problem is that there aren't any
lugs on the switch, just a nylon end with two slots in it. Apparently these wire connectors they sold me are supposed to push in to the slots and make contact with the underside of the switch, but they are junk. Wish there were aftermarked switches with lugs as you described

Hi Frank,
I believe you'll see that the new connectors have a little 'prong' on them that hold them in place once you push them into the tiny slots in the nylon part of the switch.
Regards,
Alan

[Thank you Alan, That is exactly what I have. I guess I will just have to live with those lame little connectors and try to get a better contact with them.
