Default 454 spoiler extension

Hello of France,
For my Vette 454 of 1973, I seek a spoiler extension (ref. GM 336176). I don't find it near the usual salesmen (Corvette America, Central Corvette, ......) and I think that this part is not available any more. I wonder whether I cannot manufacture it myself.
For that I need to know the longor, the height, the thickness and the matter of this part. Who could also send to me pics of this spoiler extension?
THANK'S

Dr. Rebuild has the 73-74 454 spoiler extension. Part # 1274734 for $47.50. Call them on 203-366-1332.

Thank you for your answers but indeed like write 7t3shark, I seek the additional band which is fixed on the spoiler that you put in photograph and which is specific to the 454.

Hi,

15 years ago I was looking for this very part. Part Number 336176. It is VERY RARE . I found one and the guy wanted 500.00 for . The extension, special braces that are behind it and the GM rivits. I balked at the price , now I wish I hadn't. There are actually many UNIQUE parts to a LS4 and 99% ofcorvette people hav no idea , till you try and restore a car.

I bought a VERY POOR reproduction from Classic Corvettes years latter. It was shaped simular, but the material was TOTALLY wrong. Theirs was a cheap rubber . It functions ok, but not really exact , and is funny looking compared to the original.

Not sure what is out their now ? but maybe the guy that was reproducing them has made a better product since. That was 10 years ago .

I tell you ,the CLOSEST you can get to a 336176 , but hard to find also , is the 1979 L-82 w/ air and 4 spd spoiler extension of the same material. It is very close , but has a split down the center. It came only on that car. I had one and threw it away well that was 22 years ago . Might find one of these FLOATING around. The 73 in the Brit corvette book has one of these on its chin. Looks pretty close!!!! But I knew !!!!

You need the 336177 EXt reinforcements too. Also RARE, but you can make them out of soft steel.

I have included a pic of what the set up looks like on my 74 LS4 Roadster . It is the old after maket I described above. It has worked fine , but the rubber is NOT rigid enought and flex too much to dam up the air at speed I feel. The Correct material was COURSE , tuff stuff of some sort of composite to hold shape better.

Hope this helps........

I just joined , and can't seemed to find the add a picture browser ??? MAybe I'm not allowed??? OH well ........Kaplan if you want a pic of the chin of my car , email me and I'll send ya one.!!!! Cheers mates.

Thank's Bigwheel74, indeed I did not read your answer correctly, sorry

Thank's Mike for the link, I understand better

Thank's LS4 PILOT for your experiment. I am also of agreement, the 454 has many specific parts which one discovers by "putting the hands inside". My last experiment of was found a diverter valve for my a.i.r system, problem regulated with the assistance of a member of the forum.
Otherwise I am interested by some pics and I send you my address e-mail by MP

Thank's finally with all for your efforts of reading because I know that my English is very average

Was this extension specific to the 73-74 LS4? AFAIK there was no such thing for my '71 LS5?
