I've been reading some conflicting information regarding the vacuum ports on the headlight switch. When I removed the hoses from the vacuum ports, a blue striped hose was connected to the "3" port (see photo.)
Is that correct? I've read where the blue striped hose should be connected to the "2" port. Thanks.
Hi Z06,
The BLUE hose goes on the #3 port which is toward the front of the car with the switch installed. There is lots of confusion about this since the drawing in the AIM is incorrect.
Wilcox's diagrams on this forum are the ones to be looking at.

Ala
Alan 71.........That's what I thought. As you mentioned, the AIM shows the blue hose as being connected to "2" - towards the rear of the car when the switch is installed on the dash.
Hi Z06,
That drawing has made a lot of work and frustration for many people over the years. Thanks to Wilcox and DW for getting the proper info circulated.
Regards,
Alan
Is it only the 1970 AIM that's wrong, or does the problem infect other years of the book?
I'm kinda surprised the AIM didn't spawn a recall situation, with a bunch of cars hosed wrong.

Its not only the 70 AIM that is incorrect. Here is a thread that is a perfect example of how the incorrect diagrams have spread.Corvette 101 still has the incorrect diagram on their website after I have sent them many emails asking them to remove it or correct it. http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c3-g...am-needed.html
Here ZO6, this should help you: This is a corrected picture created from the AIM picture, it is the colored version. 18243
I'm working on the new vacuum diagnostic charts and boy. . This is taking some time. When done, I'll send it to Dwnnchs for review . Then I'll turn it loose to you guys. Anyway, I did this hose chart the other day so I've posted it instead of the old black and white. This should be good for 70-72.
