Not sure why an engine change would effect your power door locks but try pulling the Courtesy/Clock fuse just to make sure the door lock actuators are not fighting the manual operation.

If you have triggered the alarm system its possible the door lock solenoids (actuators) are energized and fighting the lock mechanism. Removing the fuse will rule this out.

Is that an "interested in more info really" ? And if so are you interested how its possible the locks are fighting or that removing the alarm fuse will rule that out ?
