Default C3 vette question

Guys,

I have a 1968 Convert, I am wondering if all C3 parts from subsequent years are interchangeable?
Can I use the window glass from any year within the C3 range?
I have heard that 68 was kind of an intersting year where some parts transfer and some dont. THoughts?

This link should take you to Eklers and the page showing door glass pictures. Look at the back edge, the 68 is a completely shape and I believe the hardware is also 68 only.

There are a lot of parts that can be interchanged but not be correct like the shifter plate, the gauge bezel, door panels just off the top of my head.

Hi DZ,
I thought the shape of the glass for a coupe and convert was different but that the shape was the same for each type from 68-?; just the number of mounting holes changed. Am I mistaken about that?
Thanks Very Much!
Regards
Alan

Alan,
I made the mistake of just using Eklers pictures and my failing memory for a quick answer.

I just dug out my 68 convertible glass and checked it against my coupes glass and you are correct.:o

early years had the thick glass.
Astrovent markings and date codes if you want NCRS

Most of 68 differences are cosmetic.
Meaning other bumper cars parts work but not OEM look.

good year
