Default Quick hydroboost question

I'm ordering my fittings and the only diagram I have is using a jeep steering box, not the same fittings?!?! Anyhow, what are the fitting sizes for the Corvette ps control valve. I'm guessing they are inverted flare. Thanks

Rob

Hey Rob,
Hope this helps: this image shows the jeep box too and I found out the fitting sizes are same on my Steeroids r&p power assisted unit. I emailed the steeroids dudes and they replied with the hi-lo press sizes for their pwr assist unit. Same as jeep.

Ordered my stuff from Summit and checked on arrival. The fittings matched. The hose I bought in a box of 72", IIRC.

Hope this parts list is a match to other contributions. Good Luck.

Rob,
In my haste, I don't think I helped. After rereading your post, I see you need the fittings for the Corvette ram. Sorry about that.

Maybe the diagram can help someone else if they're switching pieces.
My bad.

If you need the impossible to find 6AN to 7/16"-24 inverted flare, I have three.

There is an error in this drawing. The line from the hydroboost out to the Jeep steering box in is about 10-1/2" to 11" not 35". The 35" length would be correct from a Hyrdrobost to a factory steering control valve.

Good picture Rob, you wouldn't get a box fit like that with side mounts on a BB. I had to clearance for the stock box.

The ports in the control valve are not the same as the ports in the Jeep box. The ports in the control valve are as follows:
The large port (nearest the stud) is a female 45 degree flare with 5/8-18 UNF threads. This port is the low pressure return to the pump.

The smaller port (nearest the end cap) is a female 45 degree flare with 7/16-24 NS threads. With Hydraboost this would be the high pressure line coming from the Hydraboost unit. With conventional power steering it is the port that connects the high pressure line to the pump discharge. This is a non-standard thread. You better purchase one of the 6AN adapters from NMsharkracer while he still has one.

One last thought: The high pressure hose coming from the Hydraboost to the control valve will find the control valve actually moving side to side as you make right and left hand turns. Check the motion of the valve and the hose. Make sure that the motion isn't causing the hose to chafe against any sharp edges.
Jim

I got all the fittings I needed for my HB conversion this spring from HydraTech Braking Systems. They have angled fittings too for tight fits and aesthetics too.

Just some info about this fitting; after searching around, I found this fitting available at JEGS. In stock.

Jegs part # 799-697100 Garrett Turbo Oil Inlet
7/16-24 inverted flare to 6AN male flare
$13.99

This is the fitting you need on the steering valve, to accept the high pressure line from the hydroboost unit.

I just went through Jegs and it's the only place that I've found that lists everything you need. Here's a few hard one to find

High pressure control valve fitting

Hydroboost fitting and for my after market PS pump

Hydroboost Fitting

The ps control valve return fitting

I think the return line fitting from the hydroboost is 5/16-24
