alternator stoped charging, so I bought a rebuild kit and rebuilt it, afterwards it still wasn't charging and I found it to be a wiring problem. I fixed that and it was charging again...Problem is that now with new regulator and diode pack the car charges but I have a choke light on and charge gauge is not registering. was going to put the old reg and diode pack back in but just wanted to know if this has happened to anyone before...the fuses are ok.
Yes thats what I think, I'm just curiuos as to if anyone else experienced this, my alternative is put the old parts back in and see. All was well before the rebiuld.
Well as we know, some of these sharks have bad color coding from the factory....the replacement plugs are mostly R/White in the coding, and the OEM wiring after 30-40 years royally sux, and they are easy enough to reverse....
when they are reversed, it's possible to blow the regulator too...
