Default alternator internals

alternator stoped charging, so I bought a rebuild kit and rebuilt it, afterwards it still wasn't charging and I found it to be a wiring problem. I fixed that and it was charging again...Problem is that now with new regulator and diode pack the car charges but I have a choke light on and charge gauge is not registering. was going to put the old reg and diode pack back in but just wanted to know if this has happened to anyone before...the fuses are ok.

Do think the alt is causing the choke light and charge gauge problems ?

I know I just wondered if anyone had this problem plus I'm cheap, but don't cut cut corners where it counts

You said above you did some rewiring after the rebuild, maybe the problems are due to the rewire.

That sounds more likely...or something got shorted internally when you rebuilt the alternator.
