got my crank pulley and power steering brackets from wilcox today and thought all i had to do is bolt these parts on and engine ready to go in (wrong)her is what im dealing with.
parts bought:
1-double v-groove crank pulley willcox 385833 49.67 (double grove)6.75
1-hormonic balancer 594-012 willcox sells this to (very small balancer)6.75
1-power steering brackets
have the original water pump pulley (3 groove)
1980 vette water pump just bought new
here is the problem:
put all this on and my power steering pump will not line up with no other pulleys,it needs to go closer to the engine by one groove this would let me run 1 belt for the crank, water pump, power steering.
and then 1 belt water pump to altinator.
crank water pump and altinator line up fine power steering pump lines up with nothing.
can sombody give me a picture or help me figure out what im doing wrong on this settup.sorry for such a long post but i desperatly need some help with this problem.
can anybody tell me if their where spacers on anything
i have the same problem. it's one groove off. but i'm looking at a march performance pulley number 523. it's a deep pulley -.940. it should be real close. i'll have it on friday. should know by saturday..
Don't know about your 80, but 77 has one belt that does the crank, water pump and alternator, then another belt from the crank to the power steering. and a 3rd belt for the crank, water pump and A/C.
dam pulleys can drive you nuts. i went through this a while back and found the corvette specific water pump to be the troublemaker in the bunch. for me personally one of the best things i ever did was buy a standard chev pump and normal pulleys. way cheaper and way more choices in pulley types but that doesnt suit everyones tastes. sounds like fugawi is going to have the answer you need soon.my set up is similar as timat but alt only goes around water pump only.this pic is prior to standard weiind water pump and standard pulleys. sometimes i swap it so a/c goes to water pump by itself instead of alt. much of a muchness to me.

My 454 has a belt from the crank to the power steering pump and one from the p/s to the alt. One from the crand waterpump a/c. I had to shim the brackets to get them to get close to alignment.
Almost the same problem only I had to go one pulley groove away from the engine on my 80. I finally put back the AC compressor that was missing when I got the car and then had to correct the belt setup. I got a pulley from a local corvette shop that is not offset at all.
How many grooves on your damper pulley?
Should be 3. A 2 groove and a single add on.
Power steering should be just that and crank, furthest belt from the motor.
I'm curious to see how this turns out and provide help if needed. I too have a 74 454 w/AC/PS/A.I.R. Pump. It is the stock belt configuration. I can share photos if necessary. My problem is belt squeal.
Did you put the bracket ( the one that bolts to the front engine mount bolt) behind the main power steering pump mount?
I didn't do this when I first mounted my pump ( on a '77) and nothing would line up...I'll see if I can get a picture....
The bracket I'm talking about is circled in red. This is for a '77 so if it's not used on a '80 disregard this whole post...

if it does it will be fixed
if not i will have to order the other crank double pulley they said they will let me know if it works.they are going to check it before they ship it to me.
i am really impressed with the way willcox takes care of me on this forum and when it comes to talking to them on the phone with problems on my car that i run into.they really go out of their way to help and get the problem taken car of and get exactly what i need.
thankyou guys for all the help my name on this forum is killer454 but i am working on a 1980 350 engine i now know this was missleading to some of you guys on what i was working on.
