Default HP from new pulleys?

Can you gain HP from changing out to lightweight pulleys on a sb 350? The car has no a/c?

No. [At least, nothing of significance.] You can only reduce the weight of the vehicle with lighter pulleys.

i was looking in midamericas catalog and they had a pulley set for 289.00 that said it would add 29 hp. I guess i should not bother with these then?

I think you mean "under drive the puleys . You may gain from that but not from lighter pulleys,

Even with under driven pulleys you're not going to notice any difference.

Actually, there may be a little hp to be gained by going to a serpentine setup (requiring new pullies), as well as a factor.

You wouldn't feel the difference and it would probably take back-to-back dyno pulls to measure any difference.

if you are going all out and dressing up the engine also they are nice. I have the under-drive pulleys on my 79, BUT I have after market 100-amp alternator, a VERY nice Aluminum radiator with duel spall fans and I am wanting every last bit of HP I can get. They are probably good for about 5-10 HP gain...MAX, but that is it, no more. They look very nice also.
but for the price, some ceramic coated headers would do a lot better for the $$$$ IMHO

That borders on being criminal misrepresentation. All the pulley driven accessories put together don't consume anywhere near 29 hp (not even half in fact) so how could smaller pulleys 'gain' that much?

I had the March UnderCool pullies on for while, lights go dim at stop lights too. Not a big seller anymore I hear

Whole set is for sale for 100 bananas would work with electric fans a bigger alternator
