I have a 75 vette and put a holley 4150 hp carb on it. The stock cable will not get full throttle. Everyone says to put the Lokar cable tc 1000 ht and it solves the problem. If the throttle cable is changed how would this change the range of the gas pedal on the floor and what would happen to the electric kickdown for the th 400 tranny? Has anyone had to change the accelerator lever (gas pedal) to get the proper range of movement from idle to full throttle when going to a holley on a 75 vette? If so did anyone use Lokar kd 2400 ht Which relocates the tranny kickdown function?
In many cases I modify the accelerator pedal lever...instead of buying a cable....so I can achieve full throttle....especially when dealing with a Holley carb swap out. I have had to do this more times than I can count.

Thanks Dub!! I had a feeling that something had to be done to the pedal becuase no matter what cable you use it will not change the throw of the pedal. What have you done to the pedal to get the proper throw? Do you bend it or add something to it?
For your year..I have usually bent the assembly...being careful to pay attention to the roll pin that is in the rod where the plastic portion of the accelerator pedal makes those two 90 degree bends...and that when completed the accelerator pedal is not raised up to high...thus making it "feel odd" when trying to use it. It is a balancing act...so to speak. But I have not on your year model had to cut and weld to modify...but I have come really close some times due to the angles when completed...put it in a position where it "could" have required welding in steel.
