Default custom upholstery work

Got a man says he will do my door panels and rebuild and cover the seats with new foam etc... wants 1200 for the project.
Is that reasonable. How do they redo the door panels?

Hi B57,
It seems to me that unless the trim person starts with an original/reproduction vinyl inner door skin, what he does is going to be similar to the original look or a custom look.
Depending on what you want your car to be this could be just fine.
I think you could buy new reproduction seat covers and door panels for about that $$$, but they'd still need to be installed.
Regards,
Alan

Yeah
I have debated about the new vs redo. I want a custom look on the panels and cant find any to order that have it already.
Not sure how they attach the skin on a redo

Hi B57,
Since you want a custom look, and if you know the quality of this fellow's work, $1200 seems quite a good price.
Regards,
Alan

You're not thinking 'crushed velour' ???
