higher rpm shout off
First let me say the tach isn't working. tried a high speed run. Shut off at 85. pulls from a stands still great but at approx 85 shuts down. let off gas it will accelrate to 85 shuts again. carb rebuilt. suspect igntion. what would cause this?

Weak/damaged/worn-out fuel pump, clogged filter, pinched fuel line, carb float set too low. What does it do if you just accelerate normally to 85 mph (and beyond)? If it will run at higher speeds with less throttle applied, you are getting into a 'fuel starvation' issue at WOT.
