Paul, I agree with you 100%, the thing I don't lick about the Corel Cente is that it just doesn't feel like you are in a hockey rink often at games there it seems like you are at the Opera sooooo quiet, and one of your favorite players is my Great-great uncle.
Tom
Jean Beliveau, Doug Harvey, The Rocket, The Pocket Rocket, John Ferguson, Dave Schutlz (fight of the night), Dickie Moore, Tim Horton, Bobby Hull, Paul Henderson, Bobby Orr, etc. Great times. Good hockey! Now it is just dump it in the zone and scramble in the corner. I attend Senators' games here in Ottawa and there is little value for money in the NHL. The international games are much more exciting: great skating, passing and team work. Love the current series.
It's true - right now Canada is not playing like a team - it's all individual efforts. But when we DO wake up... :smash:
In any event, it's been a great tournament thus far, and I'm only capitalizing off it in this post, I'm not trying to flame anyone or country - as long as the gold stays on the continent, eh :D?
Tom,
The Corel Centre is quiet because Ottawa plays dull hockey. This dump it in from the blue line is too prevalent, almost on every rush. I was there two weeks ago and with two beers and a pretzel it cost me $100.00. I am not going back. Clutching, grabbing, holding the stick, ad naseum. The NHL can learn some lessons from the Olympics. No matter who wins, these game are exciting. Who is your great-great-Uncle?
Silvr77,
Stan Mikita played his junior hockey in St. Catharines, Ontario. My undergraduate degree is from Brock University in that city. He still sponsors scholarships at the university. Small world!
Heh! That is noon out there in LotusLand. Do they allow bars to be open on Sunday ;) ? Yzerman will score the winning goal with three minutes left. And the USA is stretching the rules a wee bit: Brett Hull is a Canadian ;) .
Why?... Just cause your babes beat up our babes for the gold?? Are you sure Bret Hull was born in Canada? Could have been born here while dad was playing for the Hawks, or changed citizenship. Good Luck tomorow guys..it's gonna be fun!! :flag :flag :flag :flag :flag :flag :flag :flag :flag :flag
