Great looking '69. Man you've done a lot of work and I'm sure you're gonna love it.

One question: Your sumped fuel tank you showed, is that the unit from Aeromotive or did you fab that up for the aeromotive pump/filter system?

that is awesome . i love threads like this that show all the work done , it looks awesome.

- i think msd coils or any coils should be mounted vertical. when they are horizontal they heat up and blow up.

Awesome and rare engine you've got here !
Impressive power and torque curves !
This is the production year and engine I wanted to buy 20 years ago.
But I was only 25, and it was a little too expensive for my wallet...

Vertical or with a slight angle, let's say 30°, but not horizontal. These coils are cooled with oil. When they are mounted horizontally, some of the copper wires inside the coil won't be cooled enough.
This can lead to electrical issues, or oil leaks. Only "epoxy coils" can be mounted in any position, like these :

Why such a small cam. With those heads and intake combo you should be making into the 630+ HP range. You hardly need a converter with that kind of duration numbers. Something in the 240s @ .050 would still be very streetable and that converter would work well. Is it a flat tappet or roller cam? Good numbers but the rest of the motor and car can use more cam.

I think that says it all. A job well done. It's nice to hear you're happy with the way it runs and drives after all the hard work and finacial sacrifice. The car speaks for itself. Enjoy!

Default Sumped Fuel Tank

Hey Steve,
Can you comment on your sumped fuel tank? Is the Aeromotive fuel pump in there? I know they make a unit that is designed to fit in the tank. Is this is it or did you fab your own? Or is it just a droped area for the fuel pick up only? I assume the spare tire goes away??
