Rebuild it again.
FYI those older blocks (pre '70) had plenty of meat in them. U can still buy 0.080" overbore pistons sitting on the shelves. Something else is that i recently learned is that there are millions of used 350" s (3.48" stroke) with the small journals that will fit into that small journal block of yours - forged s BTW. That would give u more cubes for a little pocket change.
Just my 2 cents but there are so few engines that u can build so cheaply and make 400hp maybe even 450hp. Heck u already have the block and heads possibly reusable rods and too. With all the mega $$ blow outs using forged parts and fancy alum heads on this forum I would really enjoy reading a success story on a budget build here.
Good luck and keep us posted with your progress. U did such a great job restoring your vette i have high expectations on your engine replace/rebuild.

resizing the rods is a must and cheap in comparison to buying new ones..and by the picture of number 3 piston, it's a miracle you had compression at all....

Yeah, this engine needs love, but I'm sure you will give it some.
You didn't tell us about the cylinder walls, especially those with the broken rings ?
However that may be, good luck with your rebuild and keep us informed...

All 8 cylinders had the upper compression ring shattered. The cylinder walls are actually not as bad as I would expect given the broken ring issues. I will have to see if they can be cleaned up. I believe the block is already .20 over bore
