Default Master Cylinder Leaking

Installed one of those aftermarket chrome covers about 6 months ago and it leaked so I put it back in the box.

Yerterday after further inspection I noticed on the ends that the slots were not as deep as the original so...what do I do?. Yes, I deepened them so the gasket would set better. Returning from a ride I noticed there was brake fluid leaking, not from the ends but from the middle...both sides and has messed up my detailing.

I guess I'll have to hang it on the wall and make it shine
(Maybe a new gasket is possible....I don't know

Hi Ed,
Is the new cap RIGID enough for the 2 bails to hold in tightly in place?
Sounds like maybe it's deflecting a little.
Regards,
Alan

Hello Alan 71, Yes they're tight, even though I'm using the old baffle gasket it still works perfect on original cap. Are these (what I'll call) baffles replaceable? Thanks ED
