Default back window leaks

hey guys its been forever since i posted something on here.
But I am having an issue, my back window on on my 74 is leaking and its right above the battery, last year i solved the problem by putting window cocking on the outside which seem to work, instead of a quick fix i want to solve this issue. Ive searched my Ecklers C3 parts catalog hoping to find a weather striping that goes around it or something but they dont have it for the 74. Some one mentioned getting this 3M universal rubber mold and do that but idk if that the right way of doing it.

what would you guys recommend? I wanna finish up this issue before it starts raining.
Also if i have to pull off the glass you think i should get it tinted then or after i reinstall it?

The rear weatherstrip is held in place by the same bead sealer used on the windshield. When the bead sealer starts to pull loose over time, as you know they will leak. The only problem is once they start to come loose, they usually continue until the glass is re-sealed.

The only issue with fixing this problem is the paint around the rear window. Typically when people paint their cars they tend to paint over the old seal. This makes removal without an issue next to impossible. If you have paint up on this sealer, take the sharpest razor you have and cut the paint on the outer edge. This will eliminate you from pulling a big chunk off when you remove the rear window.

Once you remove the inside trim, you can then cut the seal again only this time do it as close to the glass as possible. Once you have the glass out of the way it will make removing the rest of the old seal a breeze.

Clean the glass and clean out the old seal. Then run you a new bead around the frame in the car and seat your glass again.

Use this for sealing the glass back in the car. You should be able to purchase this at any local part store. 3m-08611.

Bob,

Did you pull it all the way out and do it from scratch? There is another sealant you can use with the bead sealer and it's called Auto Bedding compound.

If you have a low spots you can also pinch off some from the end of the seal kit and use it to fill them. The windshield seal is very sticky and can be hard to get down in there flat but if you dip the end of your finger in some thinner you can use this to make it real smooth. The thinner will dry out and the bead will stick to it just fine.

How expensive and easy or difficult is that? I would love to do that with my 74. Are there issues with exhaust drafing back into the cabin?
