Hi RM,
I believe starting at a certain year (mid-seventies?) there is a company that is offering build information based on VIN. I'm sure someone will speak up with the info!
Regards,
Alan
IF I remember correctly, the production information is available from GM starting with 1977 or 78. They send you a whole packet for around 50 bucks. If its before then, no records exist, at least with GM.
IIRC the company is Allied Vaughn. They can supply a copy of the original dealer invoice for later year C3's. I don't remember what the cutoff year was. I obtained one (for free) from GM before they farmed out the operation to Allied. Pretty informative - it lists all of the options installed on the car as well as the original paint and interior colors, and the original dealer the car was shipped to. I discovered that my White 79 was originally Silver, a pleasant suprise.
If I didn't get the name right do a search for Venezia and you might find the thread that started the whole thing.

I obtained the sales invoice for my '79 from Allied Vaughn. I then used the info to obtain a window sticker replica from Tripple A enterprises.
