Default Vapor canister?

I have 1970 CA car with vapor canister. I plan on replacing filter at bottom of canister, I thought it would be a good time replace charcoal if necessary? Advice, please on replacing charcoal.

It's not made to allow charcoal replacement. It's sealed. A new canister is about $65 so just replace the whole thing. You get a new filter with it.

Is it still a good idea to replace if I don't have gasoline odors or should I keep old canister and replace filter.

Hi CK,
I agree with CC if you smell gas. Since you don't I'd say our o.k.

Won't hurt if you don't smell gas. I removed mine and installed a vacuum reserve canister for the cam I am using. Helps the brakes in my case.
