hehehe...we weren't there. I'm sure some cursing went on.[/QUOTE]
Yeah, Gordon swears like a drunken sailor! just kidding, you won't find a better man to get the job done than Gordon, but I think I got him beat when it comes to a clean garage
There was no cursing or anything. I was pretty even tempered about this. I can't say I have never lost my temper but not on this one. Yes the lift sure does make it easier. I also have a trans jack which saves time also.
As for the clean garage yes Jay has me beat on that but where does he come for his work on his car, to my garage.
I must say I commend you. That tranny is twice the weight of a t-10, plus putting it in that tight spot?! I won't be putting it in but that hydraulic clutch attachment to the tranny is slick. How much does that run?

It is heavy but I have a trans jack to get it up in the space. I have a couple of guidestuds I use to stab the trans in. After you have done this a dozen or so times it is not to bad. Here is a link to Keislers Hydraulic setup. http://www.keislerauto.com/gm/gm-par...-products.html
Holy firetruck...thats why I'll never do that, I'm Dutch. Just a OT question for you, are your driveshafts level or pointing up in your avatar.
Wow you can see my driveshaft in that picture. I'm assuming you are talking about the rear halfshafts? Yes I set mine level when the car is at rest so cruising down the road they should be level.
Yes it is a little pricey but David wanted this setup over the mechanical linkage. I'll be curious to drive the hydraulic vs the mechanical linkage.
Gordon, in some parts of the World it is considered a compliment to spill fluid on your buddy's garage floor. Here we just call it marking our territory. Just kidding of course. Mine isn't as clean as Gordons is by a long shot. On the lift front here are my two cents. If you are storing a car, go with the four legged design. If you are using it for work but not storage then go for the type Gordon has, two column with supports. His works much better than mine does for this kind of work, although he has spent quite a bit of time under my four poster as well. For access under the car, you just can't beat the lift.
Thanks again Gordon.
PS: Box on it's way with those parts.

Good questions here though. I have to admit that my experience with mechanical versus hydraulic clutch was influenced by my Nissan 350Z. Now no bashing there guys, I had it before I got the Corvette bug, okay? It utilizes a very nice hydraulic set up and it required no modification to the frame of my automatic set up in the 77. No welding anyway. We will see if this is a good decision or not, but if it performs like my Z does then I think I will be quite happy with it. The 77 has so many modifications now that it is anything but a vision of it's former self, so why not try the hydraulic clutch too...so I figured, what the heck.
More will be written on this in the months ahead...
Thanks again Gordon.

OUCH! yes, I go to Gordons to work on my 73, there's nothing that Gordon cant do there and having a lift is a huge benefit than laying on my back. And there's no charge for the ball busting!
