Flowbench testing comparisons are a horrible thing. You have to have so many things kept the same that it's hard to compare results unless you actually do everything on the same bench and setup. Just quickly, you have to use the same bore diameter adaptor, same radiused intake adaptor, same exhaust tube. Any of these will change your flow numbers. I can tell you for a FACT that the flowing of the RHS cylinder heads is done on a Superflow 1020 bench at Compcams in R&D and was done on all of the different part numbers as they were released, even the new CNC ported versions that are being done currently. If that article the one that was done that compared all the different small block heads, I believe that was done at Westech and again I've been there, they use a Superflow 600 bench. That is the oldest of the flowbenches being made right now (from the 70's or so) and is very manual compared the the 1020 which is computer controlled and climate correcting. All fine, if you do all the testing AND comparison on that one bench.
I run the RHS aluminum 235 cc SBC heads and they work great out of the box and made 600hp and the car runs 10's on pump gas so far. I am going to have them ported this winter though to pick up some more.
