Who has the best o-ring conversion complete kit, for all 4 calipers, at the best price? I'm thinking of doing the conversion on my 74 vette since I'm in the process of rebuilding the calipers.
I can't speak to the other kits, but the VB&P kit is top quality. It also includes all fasteners, bleeders, clips, o-rings, clevis pins, etc. The only thing reused is the caliper core itself.
I ordered a complete rebuild kit from VB&P this weekend. Took advantage of the Fall sale. Muskegon Brake also gives a discount to first-time forum orders.
Are there different company's making the o-ring pistons or is one company supplying everyone ?
I could be wrong but I thought I remembered reading somewhere that VB&P invented and had a patent on the O-ring caliper modification. There is a lot of cross-pollination amongst the Vette vendors. I usually go with whoever is having the best deal at the time I'm looking for something.
There are a few manufacturers of the O-ring conversion kits. I don't get them from VBP, so I don't know how they stack up, but I'm sure they're a good quality kit. We've never had any issues with the kits or the calpers that we sell with them already installed. It just depends on who you want to deal with these days.
