Default Carpet adhesive

Just finished installing dynamat and a layer of "foil/bubble wrap" in the '68, now I need to install the new carpet kit. Part of me wants to skip adhesive altogether, but I assume that would not be wise. What should I use to stick the stuff down with?

I gutted my interior when I had the roll cage done. I installed aluminum bubble fire proof matting and cover it with short pile flame retardant carpet. Fire scares me. Even with a fire system and a fire suit. Hardly a race weekend goes by without some massive car fire.

This is what we use at the shop.

I have always been a fan of 3M products, and I have some 3M Super 77 multipurpose adhesive. It works well and is readily available.

Good stuff!!! takes a couple minutes to "set up", in case you need to adjust the carpet placement.

The fronts may hold themselves in place since seats, door sills, console, etc will be going back in over them. You will want 3M or similar for the rear.

Exactly. The only areas you need adhesive for the carpeting is up at the firewall (if you don't re-install the carpet plugs), on the bulkhead behind the seats, and on the vertical panel at the back of the storage area (also, if you don't re-install the carpet plugs). The seats, door sills, and the consoles hold all the rest in place.
