head choice
- Head choice needs to be matched to the vehicle, not just the engine.
- Head choice is based on priorities for the engine. (max power, street driving, etc.)
- Flow only benefits the combo if you use it. (cam, gears, trans, driving style etc.)
- Think long-term and buy the head for where you - realistically - want to be.
- Tony is a cool guy and we're lucky to have his expertise on the forum.
When Tony posted 12 hours prior to my last post I had already made the order. It came today.
AFR 180's , RPM Performer manifold, Valve covers, Lunati cam with lifters, Lunati rocker rollers, 2400 stall torque converter, Summit gear drive timing set. and all the bolts and gaskets to put it together.
What we want is a respectable street car. We will never go to the drag strip with it, but there will be times it will see a show of acceleration. Especially at the lights when the over populated mustang makes a show.

SO that brings me to the timing gears. Are the Summit gear drive timing gears junky? I am sure I will be able to return them for a different set. I will be using gear drive timing though. Chain or belt is not in my future.
Thanks guys I really do appreciate everyones input, Marty

Funny thing about it is I am the one trying to hold the spending down while the Mrs. is yelling more, more, more...

There's also no reason to run full roller rockers on the street, but that'll start a big OT discussion so we'll just end on that IMHO note

Good luck with your top - I'm sure you'll be very happy with your combo.

I guess I don't understand spending money on sound vs. power...but that's just me. I look at cool sound as a byproduct of cool power. But...everyone to their own
