Stanley.........................great to see you back on the forum!!! Was worried about you.
BTW...............car looks FANTASTIC!! But I'm not the least bit surprised.
Happy holidays!!
Rex
Thank you very much Rex. I have been spending a lot of time in Texas, and havent had much time to post.
Happy holidays to you and your family my friend.
Stan, I can see you've been posting. We ARE having fun and will get well down the road to a complete car this week. About the only thing not done will be the seats. I spent quite a bit on refurbishing the stock seats by upgrading to dark blue leather to match the interior. Now we are taking the entire interior to black so took the seats back yesterday. Will have black leather with royal blue/marine blue stitching. They did up a sample yesterday to show me what it will look like.
No matter how nice a car is , it still should be driven. I know for a fact Doug will be driving the hell out of Bruiser !!!!
A car with a very nice body shouldnt be a trailer queen. It should be a really nice driver!!!!
And that is what we help people build. Really nice drivers.
Very well said Stan. Just as many cars get hurt during the trailering process as they do on the road. Besides you made it perfert once to can make it perfect again. In the mean time you get the thrill of doing what it was built for - to be driven.

We need a reunion at Carlisle 2010
Stan, did you get yourself a new Hat, like a 10 gallon one!!!
Blue with white stripes, simply beautiful. Actually I'm being polite and trying to keep a new years resolution. That paint, scheme and quality, is badass. With a stock L-48, the car would be badass. But with that Bruiser engine, it's badass some more. Next time I go home to Texas, I gotta see the new Cowboy stadium, and this car,........ and maybe some of the family. I'm headed to the garage to work on my Vette.

Absolutely beautiful. I've seen several of Stan's works of art in person. No one does it better can't wait to see this one finished. Any plans to bring it up to Carlisle this year? Love to see it in person.

Hey Jim,
I am pretty sure this car will make it to Carlisle. It will be a great show for Doug and Bruiser to attend.
Yes, I have purchased a couple of cowboy hats. Who goes to Texas and doesnt???
Has to be a Stetson. I got mine from the origional factory in St. Joseph MO. Silver Belly 10 X. Stetsions are made in Texas now. I think you will look great in one!

Thank you. A lot of people have, and continue to take part in the build of this car. The list is long. We are just decorating the cake so to speak
Glad you are all enjoying this build. It is always fun for us to show what we do throughout the various builds we have posted on this forum. It has become our home in a lot of ways. I have met many great people and made a lot of friends through this site.
I hope what we do gives others ideas and inspiration in the same way that I have learned so much and have been inspired from seeing other members' progress on their own projects.
Stan is way too modest but we'll let it go for now. His work speaks for itself.
Some compatriots from the NW Houston Vette-Rods and Gun Club came by today and we detailed the engine bay. The team was led by our very own King of Shine Steve Janowitch. I replaced the valve covers with identical new ones. Will keep the other set for trips to the track. They were never going to clean up well.
Fin damage on the radiator will be covered up by black A/C condensor.
Before you send cards and letters telling me the aircleaner setup won't fit inside the hood, we already know that. This is just bling matching the pic on the cover of the January 2010 issue of Corvette Enthusiast (still time to get your very own copy!) I have one header cleaned up, will do the other one tomorrow then on to the sidepipes.
We have L88 cold air air intake setup waiting to go on the car. This is fun in the mean time.
Here are some more pictures from our detail day from Keith Dutson a member of our group.
Okay the press starts today...all downhill and moving forward from here. Stan and Mike show up today, the three of us all have lists of what remains to be done. We will spend first part of this afternoon going through everything so we have a complete list and I will order whatever parts and materials we still need to we don't get surprised later in the week. Then out comes the rest of the dash, in goes the power radio antenna, inspection of my back bumpers to see if they need to be rechromed (tops are great but underside sucks and I'll know I settled there.
Will have daily pics and updates through the week. I intend to have the entire car done except for seats, soft top and tranny by the end of the week.
