Default DATA Plate ?

Since this is my first 'vette another dumb question

do 'Vettes have a build data plate anywhere on the car ? like what trans you have ,axle, engine etc....??
my '67 Camaro had one on the engine firewall ,about 3" x 4" with all the codes on it , my '76 only has a trim and paint code plate on the inner fender where the DS door hinge is....
or do you have to dig and find out hands on what ya got

I've looked all over engine compartment & under hood already , can't even find a spot that looks like there was a tag , missing bolts, painted over spot ,etc.............

That plate you found in the jamb and a build sheet on top of the gas tank is all you will find.

There is no "data plate" on a C3. As mentioned, a paper build sheet was stuck in most of the cars at the factory. It was meant only for their use, not for the dealer and/or customer. If you still have one, it's simply a lucky break after this long.

Not worth it on a later C3. The engine type is coded into the VIN. The trans will carry a VIN derivative stamp to confirm that it's original. The trim tag will given you interior colours and materials and the exterior colour. The rest of the options are either there now or were never there.

Not many rare or desirable options on a later C3 that you can't easily 'see'.

yea , i was just curious about trans. ratio ? , rear ratio ?, does it have the gymk suspension , etc... can't find tags or anything on them to say what they have.are they in a common spot on ea. ??? ...car is supposed to have 47k orig. miles ...it's in damn good shape and only things I have found really bad are the faded paint , rubber goods , and carpet shows age but after 30+ years those would seem normal ??? when I bought the car ...everything works except for the clock and tach reads backwards ....
just like to have all the background & info. I could find
