weatherstriping question
everything seems to be the same, except they dont say anything about the rivits that go in the peice at the end of the door window.
my aims shows two rivits going through that peice of weatherstiping, has anybody put this peice in and did you use the rivits?
it looks like it has metal on the back side of this peice.
can anybody explain this
thanks for the help
I believe the 2 pop-rivits fasten the black metal strip to the body. The weatherstrip glues to the mounting strip and has 1 rivet at the very bottom that fastens to the fiberglass body below the metal strip.
Check out GD70's weatherstrip thread that he's posting with pictures each day.

Alan

I'll add to Grands post..
The rivets to attach the door glass rear weatherstrips can be purchased locally. Just make sure you get the right diameter, length can be cut to fit!
If the rivets you find are longer rivets you can push the pop nail out of the rivet and cut them down to the correct length then re-insert the nail and pop in place. You must be sure to rivets are not so long that the push out the other side of the new weatherstrip.
