where do I find numbers?

where do I find numbers?
I saw in another post a link to corvettec3.ca, and took a look. LOTS of good info, makes me want to know more about my ride. I've broken down the VIN and Qjet carb code, but my question is where do I find the numbers that tell me transmission info, original color, what options it came with, etc?

Eddie, thanks for the reply. I checked those sites, and there's lots of good info there.
What I really need is someone/something to tell me where to find the numbers. With your post, and some other resources, I think I can decode them once I get them. I'm just not sure where to find the particular codes.

Hi Taz,
The NCRS Technical Information Manual & Judging Guide for 70-72 cars would be a good source for what codes are on your car, where they are, and how to interpret them. The Manual is available on the NCRS site in the STORE.
