Dash lights went out. Everything else works. Courtesy, floor and dome lights work fine. Head and parking lights are fine. The switch is only 1,2 years old. Other than changing the switch. Does anyone have other ideas??
I agree!
I just spent most of the day under the dash chasing a faulty ground (got my head stuck under there & had to remove steering wheel-luckily I had the right size allen wrench or I'd still be there LOL)
It turned out to be the fuse !!!!! I checked it with a test light and meter and it "passed", BUT I found that the metal part had broken away from the glass bit.
Cheers
Gav (anyone know a good chiropractor ???? LOL)
If the fuse is still OK, then use a piece of wire to act as temporary ground from the metal gauge bezel to a known-good ground point. Turn on the lights and connect the ground 'jumper'. If the lights work, then you need to fix the 'bad' ground...or just hook a 'bypass' jumper to ground behind the dash so it is out-of-sight. Any way you can re-establish a good ground should work if that turns out to be the problem.
