Reflectix is the best "bang for the buck" as far as heat insulation materials. Sound deadeners are good for reducing road noise, but do nothing to stop heat from coming in (it will take longer to reach the cabin...but once it does, it will be the 'same ol problem'. If you need noise reduction and heat rejection, install both. When you get done with that and new carpet, make sure to readjust your throttle cable to fully open the carb; with the new 'stuff' under the pedal, odds are it won't when you get done.
It's crazy stuff . . . And yes don't get any on your hands and one more thing, ever try and open a used can of that stuff, took me 1/2 hour to pry the lid off
Makes some awesome tattoos . . . they last for weeks.
I used naval jelly to clean off my rust and sprayed with Rustoleum. Then covered in a dynamat like product (only cheaper). Turned out pretty good. That was before I discovered POR-15. That is some amazing stuff and that's what I use now on my frame. The lid will eventually get stuck; I buy replacement cans from the hardware store and pour into those with new lids. I also follow their directions and keep in the fridge (beside the beer).
It's crazy stuff, I used it on my master cylinder, brake fluid doesn't even take it off. And yes don't get any on your hands and one more thing, ever try and open a used can of that stuff, took me 1/2 hour to pry the lid off
I put plastic wrap on the can when I re-seal it (between the lid and the can). That seems to keep it from drying together and sealing the can. Works great everytime!
