Flared 69 or no...?

I think the flare drops DOWN further than stock too. It looks more like a mud flap.

PS: When I was a kid in northern New Jersey in the mid-fifties, mud-flaps were a VERY popular custom item. Dual spotlights, dual mirrors, dual antennas on the rear fenders, dual mudflaps, and dual exhaust.
Kids even put mud-flaps and antennas on their bikes.

If this helps any,
It's a rally wheel with skinny red line tire and too me it look like the tire is way back in under there,

I think it appears the car has a mild flare also and the tire/wheel does look too tucked in but I wonder if the "mud flap" is throwing us off.
at any rate, the car has flares just like you would find on a LATE shark...say '78 up.....if you take a tape to a stock '72, vs a later shark, then to my car you find my car has the later shark look/flare to it....
I can feel under the fenders there and tell all the extra glass work in there, it's thick....and pretty strong too....

the car above looks like a very similar treatment....
I have 275/50/17 in rear, 255 up front...'89 vette wheels with stock centerline being kept on the tracking....
