Quadrajet choke

Can a 1969 quad be converted to an electric choke ??

The kit posted above will not work. It is for a hot air choke and you have a divorced choke carb. Get in touch with Cliff Rugles (google the name) for a recommendation.

The only electric conversion for a divorced choke carb is the system sold by Carbs Unlimited. It bolts to the manifold in the choke coil location.

thank you for the reply....I will check them out....I sent you an email earlier today....asking if you would be interested in "doing" my 1969 quadrajet 7029207...if not.. should I buy one from Carbs Unlimited...or could you recommend where to get a "good" one ...thanks,Rick

Lars,

I see EC-9035, electric choke thermostat and EC-8184A electric choke but for the life of me I can't see how this replaces the divorced choke? Any advice?

I have this electric conversion on my '69 and it works well. The only problem I had is that the mount is designed for the stock manifold which is apparently 90 degrees different from the Edelbrock Performer which I am running. I had to fab up my own mount.

Thanks Pete. That web site is not particularly intuitive but I found CU445 and ordered. My car did not work well last summer with the divorced choke. I'll try this one.

Is this the usual wiper motor hot wire hookup? I forget the colour.

So is it the yellow wire on the wiper or do I take it back to switched IGN on the fuse box?

Yes! The yellow wire from the wiper is 'Switched'.

Is an in-line cartridge fuse advisable? I'm thinking 15 amps with 16-gauge wire.
