How do i check my headlight switch
HI,
driving home last night my headlights and dash lights suddenly turned off... luckily i was 100 feet from my house so this morning checked all fuses, and nothing blown. only thing it could be is the switch right?? does anybody know how to check the light switch on a 74 corvette

You probably do have a switch problem. The switch receives power and it also distributes it to the headlamps and the dash lamp on individual wires.
Do you have anything else without power?
If all of these things are out, it's a good chance the switch is bad too.
How do you test it? You can test for power at the dimmer switch with the lamps on, and you can test the gray wires to the dash lamps.
You can remove the switch from the dash and test it, it's not hard but by the time you do this you might as well replace it. They are only 36.00 new. http://willcoxcorvette.com/product_i...oducts_id=1529

The switch has a breaker inside of it, the points could be fried, you could have a short causing it to break open, or the internals of the switch could just be past it's prime.
