Default Shocks etc. advice please

My shocks on my 76 Vette are stuffed and leaking, so I need to replace them. But there is also a creek sound when the car leans going round corners. I know that all the visible rubber bits are all perished and crusty looking, but can anyone in the know tell me what parts I should be replacing?
I am deciding between taking it to a garage and having a go myself. I have the AIM and a Service manual, but I have never done work on shocks before, so I dont know if I am capable.

Advice would be appreciated.

Cheers
Kev

You can certainly replace the shocks and the rubbers on the stabilizer bar and struts. But, if you need to replace the A-frame bushings, I would recommend having a repair shop do that work...unless you have equipment and skills to perform major suspension repairs. It can be done in your garage; but, since you are asking if you should do it, I would not recommend it. If ball joints need to be replaced, too, just have the repair shop do all of that work.

Thats cool, thanks for the advice. I may be best to let the garage do this one as I am not sure exactly what needs replacing. Thanks heaps for your help

If it's any help I fitted the Delco Heavy Duty shocks and think they're a good compromise between performance and ride
