That's the one. From the sounds of it, something is out of whack, and it's worth a shot. What's the worst that could happen....you have to change the gasket again?

Be sure to replace the idler arm on the steering tie rods.
Use a HQ piece - it makes a big difference.

flynhi, are you talking about the rod that goes between the 2 tie rod ends on each side? it looked fine to me. Should I still replace it? I will try that RTV for the tranny gasket.

Are you sure it isn't leaking from the gear selector shaft? I replaced my pan gasket but it turned out to be the seal on the selector shaft that was leaking.

flynhi. I see what you mean. I will buy one. I guess I should do it all if I am going to do it right. I will investigate this gear selector shaft. Not sure what it is or where it is.

Item 072 is the selector shaft seal. Cost around a buck or two.

Huh?

RTV won't hurt anything. I've watched people slather pan gaskets with RTV and never seen a single issue out of it.

That web site is pretty cool. Cheap too. I ordered the seals and a new dust cover. I will let you know how it goes.
