Between the end of August and first week of September, 1976, the Flint engine assembly plant changed from Chevrolet Orange to GM Corporate blue engine paint.
81 pilot it's exactly that my vette was built at the end of the year 1977 so it was blue!
But the intake manifold was blue too? or aluminium color?
Thank you very much

Hi corvette593,
If you where to go into your public profile and list a little information about your car and or the area as to where your located, that can help out on answering your questions better. Hope this will help you out in the future.
I'm not sure about 1977, but my 1980 vette engine was originally painted blue and the aluminum intake was also originally painted blue. Now they are red, which goes real nice with silver
I have never gotten used to seeing a blue engine in a Corvette . Blue engines [except for the original 6-banger] are meant to be in Pontiacs! Chevy engines should be "Chevy Engine Orange". What were they thinking? [Oh, that's right...this was GM in the late 70's. They were "out to lunch".]
