Default Need Carb Guru help

Ok, I changed out my fuel pump and replaced fuel hoses. My carb prior to this was really dripping from the rear boosters and then stumbled and died. It did not do this yesterday after my fuel pump install. It is really dripping today and even after I kill the motor. I did install a 1/2" hose from the carb to the pump. But, the carb was doing this prior to the new hose and pump. The float is just laying at the bottom and I cannot get it adjusted so I figure I need a new float.

Any ideas? Thanks for the help.

Fuel level too high is the ONLY thing that will cause fuel to drip from the boosters at idle. The can be a bad needle and seat, fuel pressure too high blowing the needle off the seat, or as you have already diagnosed -a sunk float. Get a new float, set it properly and your problem should be fixed.

I did that as you were probably typing. LOL! I took out needle and seat examined...ok...blew it clean with carb cleaner and reinstalled. Float back up where it should be, but it is bogging down when I punch it during my much needed test drives down the street. I hit it and it hesitates and then goes. Maybe I need to junk this Speed Demon.

Thanks.

There's your problem. I have been through 3 Demon carbs only to realize they are tough to deal with, but if you can get them dialed in, they are great!
