at first I thought you were going to tow it out of your garage. I was ready to see the after photo of the vette minus the windshield.

or in my case my brother with a beer in one had and a camera in the other coaching me "Oh yeaaah, that'll work fine"!My wife dont even bother checking on me anymore.. I have to go in the house to get my own bubba lube now.

Ohhhh.......Boyyyy you should open a school.....you could call it "BUBBAS SCHOOL OF TECHNIQUE" but you'd have to have a special cool room to keep those bubba lubes in

you should probably sit in the passenger seat and push and pull as hard as you can on the corner of that frame to see if anything is loose.
I think i would have tried to move it by hand first or used a sledge and wood blocks. Those come along straps are very elastic so its very hard to move something in a controlled way.

At least you took the windshield out first....real Bubba would have tried with the glass installed still (not sure how the strap would have attached though).
Great to see that your idea worked and you are happy with the results. Great looking car! '75 convertibles are REALLY growing on me lately. Something about the drop top on a rubber bumper car just fits perfectly in my opinion.
Did you check the top and see if it fits well? Do you have the optional hard top? If so, does it fit?
Did I already say your car looks cool?

The car had been wrecked at least twice prior to my purchase. I can tell the right hand door and front fender are replacements. The windshield had also been replaced. It was a wreck when I bought it and the passenger side window was stuck half way up and the power window sector gear was stripped. I don't know if that window ever went up, I don't think it could have. I had to remove the mechanism for rebuild and didn't replace it till after repair, panel fit, and paint. Big mistake, live and learn.

I did try the wood block and sledge but swinging that hammer that hard that close to new paint raised the pucker factor way too high. The thing just wouldn't move. I also figured the elasticity of the straps could be a problem but chains hanging over the new paint sounded worse. Don't know if I'd ever try something this goofy again.

I too am a huge fan of the 75 rag top. I looked for a long time for one, passing by many others in the process. I finally found this one just up the road a ways in Daytona. It has ps,pb,air,pw,t&t,and 4-speed. It doesn't have the L-82 I wanted, it has the original L-48 which I rebuilt into a 383 stroker. It had been wrecked and I paid probably 5 times what it was worth but how many times do you find exactly what you want? Worth it to me anyhow.
Yes the top frame fit is good, new top from willcox ready to go on.
It doesn't have the hard top. It did originally but I had a hunch the seller had it hidden in order to sell it seperately.
Gettin' real anxious to get this thing on the road

It took courage to do that. Lots of it.
You have also probably used up all of your luck for the entire project. The next time you try something like that it will likely end in disaster.

I would probably have left the vette in netural, realized it after I started to pull, slammed on brakes, and rear ended my self.

Here in Georgia, a real Bubba would have put one end of a railroad tie in the floorboard and chained the other end of the railroad tie to our mud buggy and prised it out a little bit. It would have been a two day job cause we'd spend all the first day just drankin' beer and studyin' the sitiation to make sure we did it right.
