So i am ripping the carpet out today and ran into some trouble with the seats. I push the lever to move the seats forward but they will not budge. I got the two front bolts out but cannot get at the rear ones. I tried to get some lube on the rails but they are hard to access. Do I need to remove the two bolts with the large phillips heads in the base of the seats? How can I get those dang seats to move forward?
Sit your butt in the seat, pull the release lever so the rail is not locked, then pull yourself forward with your feet as hard as you can. Release the lever and you will be locked in the front position. Logic, my boy...you need logic. {...and momentum... you know; the mass of the a$$.....}

I agree. Set in the seat and work it forward and back to get the seat to move for you. When you do get the seats out it sounds like you need to get the tracks off the seats and clean that old hardened grease out of the tracks.

I have run in to the same issue and found that the seats are difficult to slide forward with the front bolts out for whatever reason, I think the seat tracks become misaligned. I put the front bolts back in slide seat forward and remove rear bolts first and then slide seat back to remove front bolts, works every time for me. Can't explain why this is so but it works.
Not sure what that lever thing is you're talking about, but you just need to move the little center toggle **** forward... the seat will stop moving when it has reached the forward stop.... right..?
If you are not sitting in it, the seat will stop moving when the front of the bottom cushion hits the tranny console...way before it locks in the front position. That's why he can't get to the back bolts.
