I was just leafing through one of the many Vette vendor catalogs and noticed that one vendor is selling a plexi-glass targa top to fit on C3's. This is _exactly_ what I have been seriously wanting to put on my car instead of the heavier (and way more expensive) glass t-tops.
Has anyone used one of these and can comment on quality/fit? My main concern is seal and flex.
I went to the town where the astro tops are made. They were $300.00 plus shipping then. As far as not leaking thats a bunch of poopie. Maybe the ones he makes for C4's work, but the one I tried on my C3 was returned before I left town. Others on the forum say they have had better luck with these. If you never intend to drive or park in the rain they may be what your looking for. Just my 2cnt's. :conehead
I have one. While I was able to get mine to seal up and be leak free - I really am not impressed with the mounting system. By the way the guy on E-bay says these normally sell for $795.00 + shipping
I Want some of what he has been smoking - go to the Thompson Astro Top web page and they go for less than his present high bid. http://www.astrotops.com/68_82tops.html
Typical e-bay seller wanting twice the value of his goods - typical E-bay buyer - dolt who does no research.
Seller is not even very creative as he clipped 50% of his ad copy directly from the astrotop web page including the image.
A guy on Ebay has them for $355.00 each. Said they fit 668 to 82. I emailed him saying my 77 only has 2 locking handles and an 82 has 1, so how can the same top fit all these years? He said something about the same pin holes and adjusatble handles. I said forget it!! :bs

The part only uses the front holes (in the windshield header) - the back of the panel is retained by two very cheesy clamp like devices - so this panel will work fine on a 77 as well as an 82.
The item can be had cheaper off the Atrotop website - the e-bay seller has them priced higher than they normally go for.
