On the back of the Tach of my 1969 Corvette there is an electrical solenoid. on the back side of the solenoid is a vacuum fitting. the vacuum fitting has one connection coming streight out of the solenoid and one at right angle. I see only one vacuum line to attach to the solenoid. Which fitting does it attach to?
It is just a 1/2" cube of open-cell foam. That fitting is just a 'vent' for the equalization of pressure (as needed by the system when it switches states) and the foam merely prevents dirt/dust from entering the solenoid/switch when vacuum is vented through it. Just find a piece of soft foam material which you can blow some air through; if it completely blocks air flow, it must be a closed-cell type foam and will not work. Foam material used on vacuum cleaner filters or air purification units would work well.
