So i had this mechanic come by and try to figure out whats up with my flex plate not spining and hes telling me its the cam and a cam button...im not to sure what a cam button is... we tried spining it with the crank bolt with no resolve, we though the pulley may be on too tight but after pulling it almost completely off still wouldnt spin, we checked to see if it was sitting uneven but it was fine, the tq converter span freely, we check to see any bolts were blocking the way but it seemed fine...
maybe i tq down the felx plate bolts too tight?
i was able to spin the motor with the sfi hughe flexplate before i got it in the car...i cranked fine... it made 2 spins before it stopped i figure it stopped cause the spark plugs were in...
am i gonna have to pull the engine again and re drop it in?
I could use some serious help here......... im so disappointed how this project keeps having set backs...i was hoping to be done by hot august nights...
I would suspect the injectors can easily support that engine. I think they're the same ones on a 6.0.
Get a new mechanic, the LS motors dont have a cam button, they use a retainer plate.
Any chance the starter is binding on the flexplate?

I havent even put the starter on... i was trying to get the tq converter bolted up first.... Im at a loss of what to do...
i doesnt make any sense it spun when on the engine lift when i was tightening down the flex plate. spun twice then stopped i figured cause of the spark plugs...
hot august nights is coming up and i really wanted to drive the car up there...
If you mean you turned it with the flexplate twice, then couldn't turn it any more, you've got an internal issue. The cylinder pressure will bleed down even with the spark plugs in and you should be able to turn it over after waiting a minute.

before when it had its old pulley i was able to turn with out any issues, when i put the corvette pulley thats when i was having the issue and with the new sfi plate.... im guessing ill have to pull the motor again to figure out whats wrong...i didnt want to have to pull it if i didnt have too...
